Ashwell-on-Marr keeps its fog through the winter of 1887, and a town that photographs its dead more often than its living keeps you in silver and ether. You are fourteen years apprentice to Whitcombe & Son, Photographers of the Departed — you coat the plates, ease the jaws, compose the hands of people who can no longer spoil a long exposure by breathing.

The Blackwood boy went into the river three nights ago. His mother has kept him on ice, and now she wants him fixed before the frost takes him. It is a late commission, a cold one, and a strange one — and when you arrive at the house, the dead boy is still talking.

The Last Exposure is a second-person Victorian gothic visual novel about the company of the dead, told across seven dawns. Elias does not rest the way the others rest. As you develop his plate, you develop the picture of a town that has been arranging its silences for years — the laudanum, the struggle at the stairs, the second figure no one asked to be photographed. Investigate, and the image comes clear. Look away, and it sets.

Three endings, three darkroom fates

- Develop — the image surfaces. The truth, in full.

- Fixative — the image is held, softened, made bearable. The way a mother can hang it in a hall and call sleep.

- Overexposed — the plate burns clean. Nothing survives the light.

Details

- A single playthrough runs 60–90 minutes; three endings reward return visits.

- Fully voiced NPC dialogue, performed by a local Kokoro TTS cast (Apache-2.0, no cloud, no key).

- Original dark-ambient soundtrack — a theme, a tension cue, and a piece for each ending.

- 15,000 words of literary Victorian English; second-person narration for immersion.

- Static dread and a seven-dawn countdown. No jumpscares, no gore — only the long, patient weight of what a town has agreed not to say.

Oh my gosh dude, this is literally one of the best games that I have ever played in awhile and the story was awesome. I do have one suggestion and that is to get voice actors. The reason is because when your using he text to speech voices, it sounds staticy when the music is being played. But other than that, the story is awesome.
